Knitting around the neck: DIY "Knitting pins"

I've been using DIY "knitting pins" to carry my coloured yarn strands at my shoulders. I use safety pins and paperclips to do the job, as I show in this video. If you have made DIY "knitting pins, please post and let me know how YOU did it!
