Wire armature for a papier mache or clay sculpture with 18 gauge wire

I use this lesson in 5th-8th grade art class. Using 18 or 20 gauge wire I construct a small wire figure armature to use in clay or papier mache sculpture. Next I cover the sculpture with papier mache - long strips of newspaper with a glue/water solution.
